  • Tron DAO's X account was taken over by a scammer on May 2, with around $45,000 stolen from users after the hacker posted a contract address and sent fraudulent direct messages.

On July 12, 2023, the Tron DAO and Curve Finance ecosystems were targeted by hackers exploiting a vulnerability in the Vyper programming language, leading to the theft of approximately $100 million in cryptocurrencies. The attack primarily affected several stablecoin pools on Curve Finance, with the most significant loss occurring in the CRV/ETH pool, where around $60 million was stolen. Additionally, the hack impacted the alETH pool, resulting in a loss of about $20 million, and the msETH pool, with a loss of around $11 million. In response, Curve Finance's founder, Michael Egorov, proposed a temporary solution to mitigate further damage, while the Tron DAO team worked on securing their network and recovering the stolen funds. The incident has raised concerns about the security of decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms and the need for more robust smart contract auditing.
