The U.S. Department of Justice, which is suing Ticketmaster, and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission are seeking public input through July 6. President Donald Trump in March signed an executive order aimed at protecting fans from ticket scalping and reforming the U.S. live entertainment ticketing industry.

The U.S. government, through the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice, has launched an inquiry into the ticketing industry following widespread complaints about high fees, long waits, and website failures during ticket sales for major events like Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. The FTC is seeking public input on various issues including the transparency of ticket fees, the impact of ticket resale markets, and the overall competition within the industry. This move comes after previous investigations into Ticketmaster, which merged with Live Nation in 2010, and amid ongoing scrutiny over the company's market dominance and practices. The public can submit their experiences and comments until March 30, 2023, to help inform potential future actions by the FTC.
