TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 12, 2010) - Bison Gold Resources Inc. ("Bison Gold" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:BGE) is pleased to announce the successful acquisition, via claim staking, of 2,553 hectares of highly prospective ground for and orogenic lode gold mineralization and spodumene(lithium)-bearing pegmatites adjacent to Bison's Apex Property.

The "Pex" Claim Group covers a known gold occurrence which appears to occur along a splay structure off an inflection point of the regionally-extensive Crowduck Bay Fault. Historical grab samples from this occurrence produced assay values up to 5 ppm Au.

The "Pex" Claim Group also covers a significant portion of the Wekusko Lake Pegmatite Field, which is host to three known spodumene-bearing pegmatite occurrences to date. It was determined, through an extensive and thorough review of the area, that the "Pex" claims cover an area with very similar geological and structural features to the known occurrences and therefore are highly prospective for the discovery of new pegmatites.

Apex Property Update

Bison is pleased to announce the completion of a 45 line-km exploration grid on the Apex Property. The company is currently planning an Induced Polarization (IP) survey over the exploration grid to follow up on potential gold-bearing structures outlined by Bison's 2009 high resolution airborne magnetic survey.
