Dia Bras Confirms High Gold Grades at the Minerva Vein of its Cusi Property

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - May 10, 2010) - Dia Bras Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:DIB) is pleased to announce results of underground sampling of the Minerva vein, which is part of the Promontorio mine area of Dia Bras' Cusi property in Chihuahua State, Mexico. Gold grades up to 32 g/t occur in the sampled drift. Earlier surface sampling of the Minerva vein returned grades up to 5.5 g/t gold (see press release of November 15, 2007), and these new results confirm that the Minerva vein is a gold-rich vein. The vein also exhibits geochemical characteristics of veins in the Promontorio area compared to the Santa Eduwiges area, wherein Promontorio samples are generally much lower in base metals (0.00X-0.0X %) whereas Santa Eduwiges samples are higher (0.X-X.0%). These data indicate that the Promontorio veins are higher in the precious metals system than those at Santa Eduwiges, which is also consistent with the higher gold values in the Promontorio area.
"These results are very encouraging for us," stated Daniel Tellechea, President and CEO of Dia Bras. "As we develop the Promontorio veins for pilot-mining during 2011, we can forecast a higher gold production than we previously considered, in addition to our silver production."
Samples were collected in the drift at the 2085 m elevation of the Minerva vein (see Minerva Underground Sampling long section [ http://www.diabras.com/en/newscenter/2010/Minerva.pdf ]). Little is known of the history of the Minerva workings, only that development of a shallow shaft and some drifting were done, possibly 20-30 years ago or perhaps even earlier.
Dia Bras intends to conduct additional mapping and sampling of the Minerva vein and its immediate area. This work will be followed by surface diamond drilling as part of the long-range development and pilot-mining of the Promontorio project.

Method of Analysis
Samples sent for analysis are prepared by the ALS Chemex sample preparation laboratory in Chihuahua, Mexico, and assayed for Au by 50 g fire assay with AA finish, and for Ag by AA on 50 g split sample at the ALS Chemex North Vancouver Laboratory. Assays for Pb, Zn and Cu are done by Induction Coupled Plasma (ICP) at ALS Chemex.
