TYSONS CORNER, Va.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Cardinal Bank (NASDAQ: CFNL) is pleased to announce that John M. Toups has been named Honorary Chair for the 2009 Annual Cardinal Bank Charity Classic, benefiting Inova Kellar Center and the Cardinal Bank Community Fund. The date is set for Monday, May 18, at the prestigious Country Club of Fairfax. Now in its 7th year, the Cardinal Classic has become one of the most successful fundraising events in the Northern Virginia region.

Toups is an exemplary philanthropic leader and community advocate, and gives freely of his time, talent and treasure to many worthwhile organizations. His generosity and bounty of spirit have extended to Inova Health System and the Inova Health System Foundation, where he is a member and former chair of both boards, and Northern Virginia Community Foundation. Toups is a former trustee and chair of the George Mason University Foundation. In 2006, he received the George Mason Medal, the highest honor given by GMU in recognition of his long and distinguished record for public service. Toups currently serves as director and chairman of the board of GTSI; and a director of Dewberry, the Halifax Corporation, NVR, and the Willdan Group. He and his wife have endowed the Toups Healthcare Initiative Fund and the Toups Nursing Scholarship.
