The banknotes of Tk20, Tk100, Tk500, and Tk1000 are being printed as per instruction of the interim government

The Bangladesh Bank has begun printing new banknotes featuring graffiti from the July 1969 uprising, as part of a broader initiative to commemorate significant historical events. These new notes, which will be in denominations of Tk 5, Tk 10, Tk 20, Tk 50, Tk 100, and Tk 500, incorporate designs that reflect the spirit of the mass uprising against the autocratic rule of Field Marshal Ayub Khan. The decision to include this historical graffiti was made to educate the younger generation about the country's struggle for democracy and to honor the sacrifices made during that period. The new notes are expected to be released into circulation soon, enhancing the cultural and historical value of the currency.
