Saudi Arabia's UNCCD Presidency launched Land Day today, the first of its seven scheduled Thematic Days designed to focus discussions and ongoing negotiations on key areas within the land degradation,
The Saudi Presidency of the 16th UN Conference on Biodiversity (COP16) has called for increased private sector involvement to address the global biodiversity crisis. Highlighting the urgency of the situation, the presidency emphasized the need for innovative financing and partnerships to meet the goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. This framework aims to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030. The call to action was made during a side event at the 6th G20 Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group meeting in Mumbai, where discussions focused on mobilizing resources, enhancing technology transfer, and capacity building. The Saudi delegation stressed the importance of integrating biodiversity considerations into business models and investment decisions to ensure sustainable economic growth and environmental health.
