Singapore's state investment company Temasek said on Friday that it has established a wholly owned private credit entity with an initial portfolio amounting to S$10 billion ($7.5 billion), consisting of direct investments and credit funds.
Temasek, Singapore's state investment firm, has launched a new $75 billion private credit entity named Bold Wealth Management, aiming to capitalize on the growing private credit market. This move comes as traditional bank lending faces increased regulatory scrutiny and higher capital requirements, making private credit an attractive alternative for investors. Bold Wealth Management will focus on providing bespoke financing solutions to mid-sized companies, particularly in sectors like technology, healthcare, and consumer goods. The entity will leverage Temasek's extensive network and expertise in alternative investments to offer flexible, tailored credit solutions. This initiative also reflects Temasek's strategy to diversify its investment portfolio and tap into the lucrative yields offered by private credit amidst a backdrop of economic uncertainty and shifting financial landscapes.
