Boeing will be laying off 141 employees across Florida starting in January 2025, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter.

Boeing has announced layoffs affecting approximately 100 employees at its facilities in Florida, specifically at the Kennedy Space Center and the nearby Exploration Park. This decision comes as part of a broader strategy to streamline operations and reduce costs amid ongoing challenges in the aerospace industry, including delays in major programs like the Starliner spacecraft. The layoffs are part of a larger reduction plan that will see about 2,000 jobs cut across the company. Despite these cuts, Boeing remains committed to its space exploration initiatives, with plans to continue supporting NASA's Artemis missions and other commercial space endeavors. The company has stated that these layoffs are necessary to ensure long-term competitiveness and sustainability in a rapidly evolving market.
