This fear is attributed to ongoing economic challenges, including inflation and difficulties in hiring, which have persisted since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey, which polled over 6,700 small business owners across the country, revealed that sectors such as restaurants, retail, and beauty services are particularly at risk. The data suggests a potential economic downturn, as these closures could lead to increased unemployment and further strain on the economy.
