2 Hickory High students hit by car at busy intersection

  • Two 15-year-old students were hit by a car while crossing a busy intersection in Hickory, and the driver, Avianna Damia Danner, was charged with speeding and not having a valid driver's license.

Two students from Hickory High School in North Carolina were struck by a vehicle while walking to school on Tuesday morning, resulting in one student being hospitalized with serious injuries and the other treated for minor injuries. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Highway 70 near the school, leading to the temporary closure of the highway for investigation. The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police, who are still investigating the cause of the accident.
