WYOMISSING, Pa.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--UGI Energy Services Inc. (aUGIESa), the midstream and energy marketing subsidiary of UGI Corporation (NYSE:UGI), announced today that it plans to invest approximately $150 million to extend its Auburn Gathering System 30 miles from its terminus in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, to Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, including a planned connection to Transcontinental Gas Pipeline. The extension is expected to be in service in the summer of 2013. When complete, the Auburn Gathering System will link prolific Marcellus Shale production areas in Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties with multiple Pennsylvania and interstate markets.

UGIES recently announced that the portion of its Auburn Gathering System from Wyoming County to Tennessee Gas Pipeline in Susquehanna County is complete and has been placed into service. This System transports gas from acreage being produced by Citrus Energy Appalachia, LLC (aCitrusa). Citrus and UGIES have executed a Precedent Agreement for Citrus to anchor the 30 mile extension of the gathering system and UGIES expects to secure additional commitments as the project develops.

Lon R. Greenberg, chairman and chief executive officer of UGI, said, aWe are pleased to announce the commencement of another step in our strategy to provide Marcellus producerswith multiple avenues to serve high value natural gas markets. Our expanded Auburn Gathering System will enhance our ability to bring plentiful, competitively priced, locally produced gas to consumers in Pennsylvania and throughout the Northeast."

UGIES owns 14.7 BCF of underground natural gas storage in north-central Pennsylvania, operates LNG and propane/air peaking plants in Pennsylvania and is in the process of developing midstream projects in the Marcellus Shale region. UGIES also markets natural gas, electricity and liquid fuels to approximately 9,000 commercial and industrial customers at approximately 30,000 locations in eight eastern states and Washington, D.C. and owns electric generation assets in Pennsylvania. UGIES is a wholly-owned subsidiary of UGI Corporation (NYSE: UGI), a distributor and marketer of energy products and services that, in addition to UGIES, operates natural gas and electric utilities in Pennsylvania and distributes propane both domestically and internationally.
