"Our thoughts and prayers are with Howard's family," said Pete Delaney, Chairman and CEO. "The OGE Energy Corp. family has lost a beloved friend and valued leader. His mastery and innovation in utility regulation were one-of-a-kind. He was the best."

In his time at OG&E, Motley instituted a regulatory program that served customers and company alike. His collaborative style and concern for customers contributed to a string of successful regulatory outcomes that enabled OG&E to become a leader in wind power, demand-management and efficiency, electric infrastructure security, smart grid deployment, expansion of generation and transmission capacity, and improved reliability of the power distribution system -- all while keeping OG&E's customer rates well below the national and regional averages.

Motley joined the company in 2001 as Manager of Rate Strategies and became Director of Regulatory Affairs and Strategy before being promoted to vice president in 2006. Prior to joining OG&E, Motley served for 17 years on the staff of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and worked for 11 years as a utility regulatory consultant.

OG&E, a regulated electric utility serving more than 785,000 customers in a service area spanning 30,000 square miles in Oklahoma and western Arkansas, is a subsidiary of Oklahoma City-based OGE Energy Corp. (NYSE: [ OGE ]), which also is the parent company of OGE Enogex Holdings LLC, a midstream natural gas business.
