Kayne Anderson MLP Investment Company Increases Distribution to $0.4975 per Share for Q2 2011

HOUSTON--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Kayne Anderson MLP Investment Company (the aCompanya) (NYSE: KYN) announced today its quarterly distribution of $0.4975 per share for the quarter ended May 31, 2011. This distribution represents an increase of 1.5% from the prior quartera™s distribution of $0.49 per share and is the third consecutive increase in the distribution rate.

The distribution will be payable on July 15, 2011 to common stockholders of record on July 8, 2011, with an ex-dividend date of July 6, 2011. It is anticipated that a significant portion of this distribution will be treated as a return of capital for tax purposes. The final determination of such amount will be made in early 2012 when the Company can determine its earnings and profits. The final tax status of the distribution may differ substantially from this preliminary information.

Kayne Anderson MLP Investment Company is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, whose common stock is traded on the NYSE.
