Whiterock REIT Announces Key Additions to Management Team in Operations, Leasing, Finance, and Accounting

TORONTO, June 10, 2011 /CNW/ - Whiterock Real Estate Investment Trust ("Whiterock") (TSX: WRK.UN) is pleased to announce several key additions to its management team. Jason Underwood, Chief Executive Officer of Whiterock said, "We are delighted that such high quality professionals have joined Whiterock to help further develop and manage our exciting growth platform. We are committed to building our management team with the best professionals across all functional areas to effectively position us as we enter into the next phase of our growth plan."

Steve Smith, Senior Vice President, Operations

Steve joined Whiterock as Senior Vice President, Operations, from Oxford Properties, where he worked for 15 years in a senior capacity overseeing numerous national operating initiatives. Steve will oversee all aspects of Whiterock's operating platform, including developing Whiterock's operating strategy with senior management and achieving greater operating efficiencies to reduce operating costs. Steve began his real estate career in leasing at Cushman & Wakefield and then worked in asset management at Royal Trust before joining Oxford Properties.

John Langton, Vice President, Leasing

John joined Whiterock as Vice President, Leasing with 25 years of commercial real estate experience at both Royal LePage Commercial and Cushman & Wakefield. In previous capacities as Vice President, Office Leasing, John worked as a landlord representative for companies such as H&R REIT, Sun Life, Bentall, Gentra, Crown Properties, and TransGlobe. John was pivotal in securing major clients through extensive marketing and tactical lease negotiations. John is well recognized and respected by his peers in the brokerage community across Canada.

Kimberly Tam, Vice President, Finance

Kimberly joined Whiterock as Vice President, Finance, from Retrocom Mid-Market REIT, where she served as Director of Finance, overseeing corporate finance, financial reporting, and taxation since 2008. Prior to Retrocom, Kimberly worked in PricewaterhouseCoopers' corporate tax group in Toronto, where she provided tax consulting services to clients primarily in the financial services industry. Kimberly began her career in corporate accounting at a private real estate development firm based in New York City. Kimberly is a Certified Public Accountant.

Maureen MacMillan, Director, Property Accounting

Maureen joined Whiterock as Director, Property Accounting, with 25 years of property accounting experience, most recently with Arcturus Realty Corporation, Canada's leading independent manager of third party real estate assets, where she was an integral member of the senior management team and was responsible for client financial reporting across the country. Previously, Maureen was Senior Property Controller for O&Y Enterprise.  Maureen is an active member of Toronto Commercial Real Estate Women (Toronto CREW) where she serves as Treasurer. Maureen has overall responsibility for the accounting and financial operations of Whiterock's property accounting group.
