Tutor Perini Corp. (NYSE: [ TPC ]) announced third-quarter earnings per share of 54 cents on Nov 5, which decreased 46% on a year-over-year basis. Earnings also missed the average forecast of 61 cents per share. Revenues fell 17% to $1.17 billion. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the full year decreased 6 cents to $2.68 cents per share over the past 2 months.

Blyth, Inc. (NYSE: [ BTH ]) swung to a third-quarter loss of 5 cents per share on Dec 6, in contrast to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a profit of 28 cents. Sales declined 12% to $221.6 million. In the year-ago quarter, Blyth had earned a profit of 80 cents per share. The average forecast for the current year slipped 10 cents to $2.25 per share in the last month as 1 analyst out of 2 reduced expectations.

Symmetry Medical Inc. (NYSE: [ SMA ]) now expects earnings per share of 63 to 68 cents, compared to its earlier guidance of 77 to 85 cents. Revenues are projected in the range of $355 to $365 million, lower than its prior view of $385 to $405 million. For 2009, the Zacks Consensus Estimate stands at 65 cents per share. On Nov 5, the company reported third-quarter earnings of 15 cents per share, which came in a penny shy of analysts' expectations.
