China Wind Power International Commences Commercial Production at Phase 1

TORONTO, Dec. 9 /CNW/ - China Wind Power International Corp. (TSX-V: CNW) ("China Wind" or the "Company"), today announced that Phase 1, of its five-phase wind farm build-out, has commenced commercial production, having passed the Quality Supervision Inspection by Heilongjiang Province Power Infrastructure Project Quality Supervision Center.

"On schedule, we have completed another important milestone in the young history of our Company," said Mr. Jun Liu, Chief Executive Officer of China Wind. "The 34 turbines comprising Phase 1 have finished at least 240 hours of testing operation and are qualified to be in production. With the passing of the inspection, all of the power we have generated to date will be sold on the tariff of RMB 0.61 Yuan per kWh (C$0.0937). Phase 1 generated and sold 30.39 million kWh of power to the grid by the end of November and is expected to generate nine to ten million kWh of electricity in December."

The 34 wind turbines of Phase 1 represent installed capacity of 49 MW.
