VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 2, 2009) - Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ECR) ("Cartier") is pleased to announce a drill hole intersection grading 4.81% Zn, 0.41% Cu, 28.7 g/t Ag and 0.27 g/t Au over 1.25 meters including a higher grade section of 11.5% Zn, 1.24% Cu, 65.1 g/t Ag and 0.29 g/t Au over 0.35 meters. The MacCormack property is situated 30 kilometers north-east of Rouyn-Noranda (see figure).
The diamond drill intersection, at a vertical depth of 120 meters, consists of a section of massive to semi-massive sulphides over 1.75 meters. The zone is comprised of pyrite, sphalerite and chalcopyrite and is hosted within highly chloritized rhyolite. The mineralization is characteristic of typical Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) deposits. Recent scientific work completed by the ministere des Ressources naturelles (see link) shows the geological setting as being similar to that of the Kidd-Creek Mine (138 M tonnes at 2.35% Cu, 6.5% Zn, 0.23% Pb and 0.89 g/t Ag) situated north of Timmins in Ontario.
The discovery hole is part of a recently initiated 4000-meter drill program (refer to October 6th, 2009 press release). The holes target the North Dyke gold-bearing system situated south of the rhyolite that hosts the massive sulphide mineralization.
A surface and in-hole InfiniTEM geophysical survey will be completed in order to scope the lateral and depth extensions of the massive sulphides as well as to locate zones of thickening mineralization.
The ease of access permits work on a year-round basis for trenching and drilling.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control
The MacCormack exploration program is conducted under the supervision of Mr. Philippe Berthelot, P. Geo., qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab S.G.B. Abitibi inc. in Sainte-Germaine, Quebec, or by ALS-Chemex in Val-d'Or, Quebec, both accredited laboratories.
