INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwire - January 28, 2009) - Duke Realty Corporation (NYSE: [ DRE ]) (Duke) announced that Thomas J. Baltimore, Jr., Co-founder and President of RLJ Development, LLC (RLJ), has been elected to its Board of Directors. RLJ is a privately held hotel real estate investment firm that, including its affiliates and three private equity funds, has more than $2 billion in equity under management from several major public and corporate pension funds and financial institutions.

A seasoned and experienced hospitality executive, Baltimore has direct day-to-day responsibility for all of RLJ's activities, including oversight of its $2.6 billion portfolio, which includes 123 hotels in major markets in North America with more than 16,000 guest rooms. In 2006, Baltimore led RLJ's acquisition of approximately 100 hotels from White Lodging Services Corporation for $1.7 billion, making RLJ one of the largest Marriott franchisees in the United States.

He served as Vice President, Business Development for Host Marriott Services from 1994 to 1996 and was with the Marriott Corporation, holding various positions in the company, including Senior Director and Manager. Before joining the Marriott Corporation, Baltimore was a staff auditor for Price Waterhouse.

Baltimore earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. He serves as a Trustee of the Darden School Foundation at the University of Virginia and is a Board member of the University's Jefferson Scholars Foundation. He is also a Director of Integra LifeSciences Holdings Corporation and Prudential Financial, Inc.
