  • Tomoka Terada's Maria, a drama about a young woman facing an unwanted pregnancy, is the first project to secure financing through a new initiative launched by Japan's Imagica Group and backed by leading filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda. The film will be produced by Hana Tsuchikawa, who has worked in production on live-action films by Takashi Miike

Japan's Imagica Group has chosen Maria 01, a humanoid robot developed by the French company, Enchanted Tools, to serve as a new member of its board of directors, marking a pioneering move in corporate governance. Maria 01, designed to enhance decision-making processes, will join the board to provide data-driven insights and contribute to strategic planning, reflecting Imagica Group's commitment to innovation and efficiency. This decision underscores the growing integration of artificial intelligence in business leadership roles, aiming to leverage technology for improved corporate performance and decision-making.
