On May 15, 2025, Columbus, Georgia's Finance Director, Angelica Alexander, and former city employee, Tammy Jo Hill, were arrested following an investigation into the city's finance department. The investigation, initiated by the Columbus Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division, uncovered fraudulent activities involving the manipulation of payroll and timekeeping systems. Both individuals face charges of theft by taking and violation of the Computer Crimes Act.
