  Kenya has applied for a new lending programme from the International Monetary Fund that will factor in unused money from the current programme which both sides walked away from last week, Finance Minister John Mbadi said on Monday.

Kenya is currently negotiating a new loan program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to support its economic reforms and development projects. According to the National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Prof Njuguna Ndung'u, there are no disagreements with the IMF, and the discussions are focused on the specifics of the new program. This comes as Kenya aims to manage its public debt, which has been a concern due to the country's increasing debt levels. The IMF has been a key partner in Kenya's economic strategy, providing financial assistance and policy advice. The new loan is expected to help Kenya stabilize its economy, enhance growth, and manage its debt more effectively.
