The article from Reuters discusses Engie SA's perspective on the U.S. renewable energy market. Engie, a French energy company, remains optimistic about the U.S. demand for renewable energy despite challenges like high interest rates and supply chain issues. CEO Catherine MacGregor highlighted that the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has significantly boosted the sector by providing tax credits and incentives, which are expected to drive growth in renewable energy projects. Engie plans to invest heavily in solar, wind, and battery storage, aiming to capitalize on the supportive legislative environment. MacGregor also noted that while there are short-term hurdles, the long-term outlook for renewables in the U.S. remains very positive, with the company planning to expand its operations and investments in the region.
