Wells Fargo Names Joe Saffire Head of Global Banking for EMEA

LONDON--([ ])--Continuing to serve the international banking needs of its commercial and corporate customers, Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) announced today that Joe Saffire has been appointed head of its Global Banking operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In his London-based role, Saffire will focus on growing the global banking business throughout the region as Wells Fargo expands its international services for U.S.-based commercial and corporate customers doing business in Europe, and for European companies with operations in the U.S. Saffire will report to Sanjiv Sanghvi, head of Wells Fargoas Global Banking Group.

Part of Wells Fargoas International Group, the Global Banking division provides financing options, risk and treasury management solutions, and trade finance services to middle market and large U.S. and foreign owned companies.

Before joining Wells Fargo, Saffire spent 20 years with HSBC where he was most recently chief operating officer and head of international banking in Germany. He also served as the regional president for HSBCas commercial and corporate banking practice in 16 states throughout the Eastern and Midwestern United States. During his tenure at HSBC, he also held roles covering the bankas global industrial sector and led a multinational banking team in South Korea. A native of Buffalo, New York, Saffire received his bacheloras degree from Boston College and an M.B.A. at the University of Buffalo.
