Third State to Benefit from Company's Reliable Natural Gas Service and Ongoing Rewards Program

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- [ Energy Plus Holdings ], one of the nation's fastest-growing energy companies, today announced its entry into the Ohio market, making its reliable, risk-free natural gas service available to residents and businesses across the state. Energy Plus is one of the few suppliers to offer all customers ongoing, valuable rewards for their everyday natural gas use.

Almost 70 percent of Ohio residents use natural gas in their home or business—and these customers now have an alternative to standard services. Energy Plus couples customer-oriented service and variable rates with a unique rewards program that features a choice of cash-back, airline miles, hotel points and other rewards, based on monthly energy usage. Customers who enroll with Energy Plus will receive a variable rate of up to 10 percent off the current utility rate for the first month of service, plus a sign-on bonus of up to 5,000 bonus rewards points or $50 cash back.

"By stepping into the Ohio market, we're now able to offer even more customers reliable service and valuable rewards—a combination that adds up to a fresh take on standard energy service," said Kevin Kleinschmidt, President of Energy Plus. "We've had great success in bringing energy choice to thousands of customers in other states, and we look forward to eventually expanding the range of our offerings in Ohio."

Energy Plus' natural gas offering, which is delivered through its affiliate Energy Plus Natural Gas LP, is available in three of the four major local utility company service areas including Dominion East Ohio, Duke Energy and Columbia Gas of Ohio. This coverage area accounts for almost 75 percent of residential and commercial natural gas customers in the state.

Ohio is the third state to benefit from Energy Plus' natural gas service, joining New York and New Jersey. Energy Plus also offers electricity service in seven energy competitive states and, in total, serves more than 180,000 customers.
