Cornerstone Community Bank Reports Financial Results For the Fourth Quarter and Full Year Ended December 31, 2010
RED BLUFF, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Cornerstone Community Bank, (OTCBB: CRSB), announced today its financial results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2010.

The Bank reported net income of $125,000, or $0.10 per diluted share, for the three months ended December 31, 2010 compared to net income of $64,000, or $0.05 per diluted share, for the same period last year. Net income for the year ended December 31, 2010 was $323,000, or $0.26 per diluted share compared to net income of $75,000, or $0.06 per diluted share, for the year ended December 31, 2009.

Net Interest Income
Net interest income of $868,000 for the quarter ended December 31, 2010 represented an increase of approximately $168,000, or 24%, from $700,000 for the same quarter one year earlier. For the year ended December 31, 2010, net interest income of $3,133,000 increased $479,000, or 18%, from $2,654,000 for the year ended December 31, 2009.
Provision for credit losses
The provision for credit losses for the quarter ended December 31, 2010 was $160,000 compared to $65,000 for the quarter ended December 31, 2009. For the year ended December 31, 2010, the provision for credit losses was $461,000 compared to $225,000 for the year ended December 31, 2009.
Non-Interest Income
The Banka™s non-interest income for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2010 was $140,000 and $454,000, respectively, compared to $78,000 and $280,000, respectively, for the same periods one year ago.
Non-Interest Expense
Non-interest expense was $723,000 for the quarter ended December 31, 2010 compared to $649,000 for the same period one year earlier, representing an increase of $74,000, or 11%. For the year ended December 31, 2010, non-interest expense was $2,802,000 compared to $2,633,000 for the same period of 2009, representing an increase of $169,000, or 6%. The Bank employed 20 full-time equivalent employees at December 31, 2010 compared to 19 at December 31, 2009.
The Banka™s efficiency ratio, the ratio of non-interest expense to revenues, was 71.73% during the quarter ended December 31, 2010 compared to 83.42% during the same period last year. For the year ended December 31, 2010, the efficiency ratio was 78.12% compared to 89.74% during the same period of 2009.
Balance Sheet
The Bank had total assets at December 31, 2010 of $76.3 million, compared to $70.6 million at December 31, 2009, representing growth of $5.7 million, or 8%.
Total loans outstanding at December 31, 2010, net of unearned income, were $55.2 million compared to $48.3 million at December 31, 2009, representing an increase of $6.9 million, or 14%.
Total deposits were $67.0 million at December 31, 2010 compared to total deposits of $61.7 million at December 31, 2009, representing an increase of $5.3 million, or 9%.
Credit Quality
The allowance for loan losses was $1,104,000, or 2.00% of total loans at December 31, 2010, compared to $843,000, or 1.74% of total loans, at December 31, 2009. Nonperforming assets at December 31, 2010 consisted of non-accrual loans of $232,000 compared to non-accrual loans of $1,000 at December 31, 2009.
The bank recognized $200,000 in net loan charge-offs during the year ended December 31, 2010 compared to $173,000 for the year ended December 31, 2009.
Capital Adequacy
At December 31, 2010, shareholdersa™ equity totaled $9.0 million compared to $8.7 million at December 31, 2009. The total risk-based capital ratio, tier one capital ratio, and leverage ratio was 16.05%, 14.80% and 11.85%, respectively, all exceeding the regulatory standards for awell-capitalizeda institutions of 10.00%, 6.00%, 5.00%, respectively.
