Active Power Deploys PowerHouse System at University in the United Kingdom

AUSTIN, Texas--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Critical backup power systems and continuous infrastructure solutions manufacturer Active Power (NASDAQ: ACPW) has deployed its PowerHouse system, a complete continuous infrastructure solution, to a university based in the United Kingdom. The system provides complete power protection and cooling to an onsite containerised datacentre. The IT container derived from one of Active Powera™s strategic IT partners.

For this particular project, the PowerHouse unit is rated at 450 kW and contains Active Powera™s high efficiency CleanSource 250 kVA N+1 UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system; a diesel generator; switchgear; a cooling system; and monitoring and controls system.
