WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Hatteras Financial Corp. (NYSE:[ HTS ]) (aHatterasa or the aCompanya) today announced it has commenced an underwritten public offering of 5,000,000 shares of its common stock pursuant to an effective registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Hatteras also expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 750,000 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any. BofA Merrill Lynch, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods and Deutsche Bank Securities will serve as joint book-running managers, and JMP Securities will serve as a co-lead manager for the offering.
