BLUE BELL, Pa.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--PMA Capital Corporation (NASDAQ: PMACA) today announced that John M. Cochrane has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Cochrane is assuming this position after holding the interim CFO title since December of 2009.

Mr. Cochrane, who has 25 years of experience in finance and operations in the insurance industry, joined PMA in 2003. He initially served as the PMA Insurance Groupa™s Vice President and Controller and in November 2007, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Finance. Prior to coming to PMA, Mr. Cochrane held positions of increasing responsibility within the insurance industry. He began his career at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., where he spent eight years in accounting and auditing roles.

Mr. Cochrane graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. A Certified Public Accountant, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
