PPG Appoints Glenn E. Bost II as Senior Vice President, General Counsel

PITTSBURGH--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) today announced that Glenn E. Bost II has been named senior vice president and general counsel, effective July 1. Bost will become a member of PPGa™s executive and operating committees, reporting to Chairman and CEO Charles E. Bunch.

Bost joined PPGa™s legal department in Pittsburgh in 1985, working with finance and transactions, and then served as assistant counsel in the international law section supporting the Asia/Pacific region and Canada. He was promoted in 1991 to senior counsel, environment, health and safety, and in 1995 to general counsel, PPG Europe, for which he relocated to Paris. Bost returned to Pittsburgh in 1997 as corporate counsel, transactions. In 2000, he was named assistant general counsel, operations, with initial responsibility for PPGa™s commercial, labor and employment, and European attorneys, and responsibility added later for the companya™s litigation; environment, health and safety; and intellectual property attorneys. Bost was appointed associate general counsel, operations, in 2005, leading legal support for PPGa™s corporate operations, and he was named vice president in 2006.

Prior to joining PPG, Bost was an attorney with the firm Thorp, Reed & Armstrong in Pittsburgh. He earned a bachelora™s degree from Cornell University, a law degree from The Ohio State University, where he made Law Review, and a certificate in international law from the Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law, Columbia University.

James C. Diggs will retire as senior vice president and general counsel effective July 1, as announced in March.
