CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 22, 2010) - Multiplied Media Corporation (the "Company" or "Multiplied") (TSX VENTURE:MMC), a leading provider of mobile local search services, is pleased to announce that its award winning Poynt local search application has been downloaded and used on more than 3 million unique devices in North America and Western Europe.

User retention and repeat usage remains higher than industry norms with an average of nearly half of all users returning monthly. During the month of May 2010, Poynt users performed over 22 million searches for local people, businesses, restaurants, gas, weather and movie information – growth of 750% over May 2009.

The Company recently announced an agreement with TELUS to augment Poynt's business listings with TELUS live agents. The availability of TELUS operators will enhance the current listings whenever typing on the smartphone is not possible or when additional business listing content is required.

During WES 2010, Research In Motion (RIM) discussed the concept of Super Apps, which are applications for BlackBerry® smartphones that deliver a compelling user experience by leveraging unique capabilities of the BlackBerry® platform. The Poynt application was recognized by RIM as having some qualities of a Super App, including delivering a seamless user experience. Poynt tightly integrates with native BlackBerry smartphone applications, providing highly contextualized content with efficient use of device resources.

Continued user growth is expected for Poynt as new users continue to discover and adopt the application on BlackBerry smartphones and iPhones. Multiplied is in full development of the Poynt application for two additional mobile platforms – Android and J2ME – with an expected launch for both platforms in early Q3 2010. The Company is also in discussions with several Telcos and handset manufacturers regarding distribution agreements, which if entered into, are expected to aid in ease of discovery and subsequent adoption of the Poynt application.

Poynt for the iPhone and iPod Touch has been well received by both consumers and industry analysts. An update of the iPhone version was recently released to address fixes to minor issues, feature enhancements and compatibility with Poynt for the iPad.

EnvIO, a leading social networking software development company, released a report listing Poynt as one of the top ten free apps as downloaded and recommended by iPhone users. EnvIO's top ten lists are based on tens of thousands of user interactions and download attempts from live apps within the iTunes Store. Through use of their Chorus application for iPhone, EnvIO measures user activity, as well as the download and referral behaviors of its users to determine the most popular apps and app trends. This top ten list has made Poynt the focus of considerable media attention, including coverage from TechVibes, VentureBeat and TMCnet.

In addition to user growth, the Company continues to focus on additional revenue streams in the form of location-based advertising and has recently signed an agreement with Ping Mobile to include offers and coupons within the Poynt application, based on the user's search term and location. Ping Mobile's first advertising client on the Poynt platform, a top hotel and lodging client, has just completed its initial trial. The campaign consisted of text-based and banner ads that were served when a user searched for hotels and related terms. Additional advertising partners are being evaluated to maximize potential advertising inventory on the Poynt platform.

The previously announced acquisition of UnoMobi is complete and distribution of the email-to-SMS product continues to gather momentum. A partnership agreement has been signed with PT BIMA to resell the email-to-SMS service to mobile network operators in Indonesia. It is currently in final testing with mobile network operators in two separate countries and is expected to be deployed soon.

A BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) version of Poynt has been developed in response to numerous requests from BES administrators to provide Poynt to their colleagues. BlackBerry users on a BES network are often unable to download applications due to restrictive IT policies. This version allows the BES administrators to manage the delivery and updates of Poynt to their entire user base, giving them full access to the benefits and features of the application.

"We move forward in 2010 with a focus towards continued user growth and revenue generation through strengthened in-market product offerings as well as broadening our user base through additional products and platforms," said Andrew Osis, Chief Executive Officer, Multiplied Media. "We are starting to see revenue generation from the Poynt application in North America. Through marketing efforts to attract a larger user base and the addition of highly targeted, relevant advertising, we expect the trend in revenue generation for this product to continue to grow. The email-to-SMS offering will also contribute significantly to revenue generation as it is adopted and rolled out to additional mobile operators in the coming months."
