


VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 10, 2009) - Atacama Minerals Corp. ("Atacama" or "the Company") (TSX VENTURE:AAM) is pleased to announce that Mr. Tim Miller has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and has joined the Board of Directors of the Company effective December 1, 2009. Mr. Miller replaces Mr. Edward Posey who has resigned from the Company and as a Director in view of his planned retirement. Mr. Posey will remain as an advisor to the Company until January 31, 2010 to ensure a smooth transition.
Mr. Posey has been with the Company since 2005 and with the Lundin Group for over 25 years. The Board of Directors would like to thank Mr. Posey for his contribution to Atacama. His dedication and loyalty to the Company has been greatly appreciated and we wish him all the best in the future.
In his place, Mr. Tim Miller will join the Board and serve as President and CEO. Mr. Miller was most recently Vice President Central and South America for Goldcorp, Inc. where he was responsible for all of Goldcorp's activities in Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Prior to that, Mr. Miller spent many years with Glamis Gold Ltd. as Vice President and Projects Manager for their Central American operations. His background also includes construction and management of major heap leach and agitated leach operations throughout South and Central America. Mr. Miller has a BSc. Chemistry from the University of New Mexico and an MBA from Webster University.
