VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 17, 2009) - Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS), a leading provider of software solutions for mobile and embedded devices, today announced that a leading producer of DC power systems selected the Intrinsyc Device Development Solutions group to design and implement a User Interface (UI) system based on Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0. The dynamic UI system is being developed for advanced digital controllers for DC power system monitoring and control. The new UI will allow users of these products to access a management website from a broad range of web browsers and display screens, ranging from XVGA desktop to QVGA mobile.

"This project showcases our deep understanding of Windows Embedded systems, usability, and graphical interfaces," said David Manuel, Vice President and General Manager of Device Development Solutions, Intrinsyc. "Our client can now offer its customers a display technology solution equal to their market leadership position in power supply controllers. At project completion, our customer will have one set of code that dynamically renders on multiple browsers and displays, giving end users total freedom of choice."

The project requires a dynamic UI solution that readily adapts to various display and web technologies. Currently, the controllers access an HTML web server that supports Internet Explorer 7 and a single monitor resolution. Intrinsyc has the knowledge to expertly advise this maker of power systems on the selection of both the hardware and Windows Embedded CE as the operating system. Intrinsyc will redesign the existing server architecture to support W3C industry standards and freely available web browsers, such as FireFox, as well as color touch screens in multiple sizes and resolutions.

In addition, Intrinsyc will redesign existing HTML web pages to support Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and optimize JavaScript server calls for performance. Intrinsyc's customer will have the flexibility to migrate to a newer embedded web server technology, ship devices with 3.5-inch color touch screens instead of 2-inch 160-160 monochrome screens, and manage future versions of device software remotely. End users will benefit from having a wide choice of web browser and screen display options.

Intrinsyc provides wide-ranging development and project management services to customers building mobile and embedded devices worldwide. The Device Development Solutions (DDS) group has the hardware and software expertise to provide assistance from concept design and prototyping through certification to final production. Our experience, knowledge, and resources help customers deliver leading edge mobile and embedded products and systems to market faster with reduced cost and risk.
