One of Australia's biggest finance experts has revealed why high interest rates will do nothing to help a crushing Aussie problem. Everybody assumes that the only way to kill inflation is high interest rates. A lot of the inflation in the economy can be solved by common sense policy.

Mark Bouris, a prominent finance expert and founder of Yellow Brick Road Home Loans, has called on the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) to increase interest rates to combat inflation, which he believes is being underestimated. In an interview, Bouris expressed frustration over the RBA's reluctance to adjust rates, suggesting that the central bank should "step up and do their job." He highlighted that inflation, currently at 7.8%, is significantly impacting everyday Australians, particularly those with mortgages. Bouris argues that a rate hike could help manage inflation expectations and stabilize the economy, despite the potential short-term pain for borrowers. He also criticized the RBA for potentially misleading the public about the severity of inflation, urging for more decisive action to prevent further economic strain.
