Finance Adviser launches SICIP

  • Putting more emphasis on industry-academia collaboration, Dr Salehuddin said that that the conglomerates and business houses of the country need to invest more in research and development.

The Finance Adviser, Dr. Mashiur Rahman, launched the Sustainable and Inclusive Industrial Competitiveness (SIIC) Project in Bangladesh, aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the country's industrial sector. The project, funded by the World Bank with a $250 million credit, focuses on improving the productivity and environmental sustainability of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It includes initiatives like providing technical assistance, promoting green technology, and enhancing workforce skills. The launch event highlighted the government's commitment to fostering an inclusive and sustainable industrial growth, with key stakeholders from various sectors in attendance to discuss the project's implementation and expected outcomes.
