NOVI, Mich., July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ITC Holdings Corp. (NYSE: [ ITC ]) operating subsidiaries ITCTransmission, Michigan Electric Transmission Company (METC) and ITC Midwest have sent 63 utility crew members to assist in restoring power to customers affected by the recent storms on the East Coast.

The utility professionals assisting in the storm restoration include 33 from Iowa and 30 from Michigan, representing M. J. Electric and Hydaker-Wheatlake, contract labor companies engaged by ITC in the maintenance and construction of electric transmission. ITC is maintaining utility crews in Michigan and Iowa necessary to maintain optimal operations.

ITC is a member of two mutual assistance groups which work cooperatively to restore electric service in emergency events.
