Prepared to Respond Should Severe Storms Occur
MORRISTOWN, N.J., July 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Early this week Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) initiated it storm response plan to prepare for the possibility of a severe summer storm this weekend or possible heat-related outages. Conditions on JCP&L's system are normal and customers have not experienced any extended power outages.
JCP&L remains on high alert and continues to staff to respond in the event the area experiences any severe storms this weekend. "We have implemented our storm rotations, assigned personnel to their storm roles, and are prepared to respond should power outages occur," said Don Lynch, president, JCP&L. "In addition to preparing our line and substation workers, hazard responders, support personnel and storm analysts, we have also arranged for additional forestry crews to assist should we experience tree related outages."
