Contracting expertise aligns with bank's industry vertical

DENVER, May 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CoBiz Financial (Nasdaq: [ COBZ ]), the parent company of Colorado Business Bank and Arizona Business Bank, announced that Willis Wiedel, president and chairman of Encore Electric, has been elected to the Board of Directors for its banking franchise.

Wiedel co-founded Encore Electric, a privately held, locally owned electrical contractor, in 2003. Prior to that, he served as president of Encompass Electrical Technologies and its predecessor, Riviera Electric. He has served on the Metro Denver Economic Development Executive Council since 2009. Wiedel received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Nebraska, Kearney, and attended graduate school at University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and Mount St. Mary's University and Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md.
