Global Income and Currency Fund Completes Share Repurchase Offer

CHICAGO--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Nuveen Investments, a leading global provider of investment services to institutions as well as high-net-worth and affluent investors, today announced that the Global Income and Currency Fund (NYSE: GCF) completed its offer to repurchase up to five percent of its outstanding shares of common stock from its stockholders, known as a repurchase offer.

Under the terms of the repurchase offer, the fund offered to repurchase up to five percent of shares from stockholders at an amount per share equal to the funda�s net asset value (NAV) calculated as of the close of business of the New York Stock Exchange on April 27, 2011, 14 days after April 13, 2011, the expiration date of the repurchase offer. As of April 27, 2011, five percent of the funda�s outstanding shares were repurchases by the fund at $16.08 per share, subject to a repurchase fee of 1.70 percent of the NAV per share.

Neither the fund nor its Board of Directors made any recommendation to any stockholder as to whether to tender or refrain from tendering shares in the repurchase offer.
