Constellation Energya?s aTake Our Daughters and Sons to Work Daya Activities to Emphasize Healthy Living, Helping Others
BALTIMORE--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG) today announced that more than 150 children of Constellation Energy employees will celebrate the companya™s annual aTake Our Daughters and Sons to Work Daya by engaging in community service and educational activities. The theme of this yeara™s event a" Healthy Living a Helping Others a" will involve kids in activities that teach the importance of exercise and healthy eating, as well as giving back to the community. The event will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011, in The Atrium at Power Plant Live, adjacent to Port Discovery in downtown Baltimore.
"Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day"
Participating children will start the day by assembling casseroles, sandwiches and craft items to be donated to area shelters and charitable organizations. With the help of soldiers from the Maryland Army National Guard, the kids will also learn about the importance of exercise and healthy eating. Participants will spend the afternoon shadowing their parents at work and discovering how what they learn in school is applied in the working world.
Food items for the project were donated by Constellation Energy employees and The Classic Catering People, a catering company serving Baltimore and the surrounding area. In addition, Constellation Energy employees and spouses this week prepared vegetable soup and baked 1,080 cookies to be donated to area shelters as part of the community service event.
This marks the seventh year Constellation Energy has participated in the national Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day®. Last yeara™s participants celebrated the day by preparing food items and basic-needs care packages as part of morning activities that benefitted the homeless and the environment. The event is part of the companya™s unique Constellation Energy Kids program, which engages the children of Constellation Energy employees in monthly community service activities.
