The Agreement allows Mike the Pike Productions to serve as co-producer on the film, working with Archetype toward packaging it for financing that would facilitate a theatrical and/or DVD release with a proposed pre-production date of Spring 2010. Cast, Crew and Distributor attachments and agreements will be announced by both companies along the way.
"Dresden Sun's" team has over 30 years of industry experience and Ryan has amazed critics with his ability to create high production value on minimal budgets as he did with his calling card feature, "Silencer in the Sky". **
Mike The Pike Productions' executive team agrees unanimously, "You look at the production value of 'Silencer,' something shot for a couple thousand dollars that looks like much more -- combine it with a satisfying script like 'Dresden,' add a conservative budget and a recognizable cast, and you have a winner. Our agency contacts, in combination with interested private investors that have shown interest in this project, should prove this to be a worthwhile venture for MTP and its shareholders."
Newbauer continues, "The project's timing couldn't be better in regards to social relevance. People now are experiencing somewhat of a baptism by fire if not an altogether rude awakening in regards to the many facades present in the financial industry today. The sci-fi element that Michael has incorporated into 'Dresden Sun,' makes the story all the more exciting, if not eerily close to home. We're very selective with projects we'll agree to co-produce. Building the MTP brand, in the company's initial stage, is of utmost importance. This is a tightly written, thought provoking thriller that I believe will do very well theatrically and via DVD/New Media with the right cast and financing attached."
All the while, Newbauer plans to keep their [ "Fish in a Barrel" ] on schedule as a priority for the company as its flagship feature. Mike The Pike Productions continues to strengthen its Concert/Event Promotions division and will be announcing its headlining artist for their untitled Summer show in the coming days. "An offer has been made and verbally accepted by a triple platinum group appealing to younger audiences and whose appearance will be well timed with a new album slated to drop this summer," states Newbauer.
Mike The Pike Productions was recently changed from Pine Ridge Holdings with the NV Secretary of State and its ticker symbol change is to take effect soon.
