St. Pete Black Business Collective Launches to Boost Local Businesses
Locale: UNITED STATES

St. Petersburg, FL - February 6th, 2026 - In a powerful stride towards economic empowerment and community building, the newly formed St. Pete Black Business Collective officially launched its initiatives this Black History Month. Founded by entrepreneur Keisha Fuller, the collective aims to dismantle the silos that often isolate Black-owned businesses and cultivate a thriving ecosystem of collaboration, support, and shared growth in St. Petersburg.
For years, the vibrant landscape of Black entrepreneurship in St. Pete has existed, often flourishing independently. However, a lack of centralized connection and collaborative opportunities has hindered the potential for even greater success. Recognizing this gap, Fuller envisioned a collective that would actively bridge these divides, fostering a sense of unity and collective strength.
"It's not enough to simply have Black-owned businesses," Fuller explained in a recent interview. "We need to actively connect them, provide platforms for learning and resource sharing, and create a supportive network where they can truly thrive. We've seen incredible talent and innovation, but too often these businesses are navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship alone."
The collective's formation comes at a critical time. While national conversations around economic justice and racial equity have gained momentum, systemic barriers to capital, marketing opportunities, and skilled labor continue to disproportionately impact Black-owned businesses. These challenges, exacerbated by recent economic fluctuations and supply chain disruptions, necessitate a localized, proactive approach to support and uplift entrepreneurs.
The St. Pete Black Business Collective is built on the core principle of collaboration over competition. This philosophy permeates all aspects of the collective's planned activities. Rather than viewing each other as rivals, members are encouraged to share best practices, brainstorm solutions, and leverage collective resources to overcome common obstacles.
"We want to redefine what success looks like," Fuller emphasizes. "It's not just about individual profitability, but about lifting up the entire community. When one business succeeds, we all succeed."
The collective's initial plans include a series of workshops covering vital business topics such as securing funding, developing effective marketing strategies, navigating the complexities of hiring and human resources, and leveraging digital tools for growth. These workshops will be led by industry experts and experienced entrepreneurs, providing practical, actionable insights for participants.
Beyond workshops, the collective is actively developing a comprehensive directory of Black-owned businesses in the St. Petersburg area. This directory, accessible online, will serve as a valuable resource for residents seeking to support local Black entrepreneurs and businesses looking to connect with potential partners and clients. The directory will go beyond simple listings, offering detailed profiles, service descriptions, and links to business websites and social media pages.
Furthermore, the collective plans to host regular networking events and community gatherings, creating opportunities for members to connect, build relationships, and foster a sense of camaraderie. These events will be designed to be inclusive and welcoming, attracting businesses of all sizes and industries.
The St. Pete Black Business Collective isn't just a business organization; it's a movement. It represents a commitment to building a more equitable and prosperous future for the Black community in St. Petersburg. Fuller and her team are actively seeking to expand the collective's reach and impact, partnering with local organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders to create a truly collaborative ecosystem.

The collective is actively recruiting members and welcomes all Black-owned businesses operating in the St. Petersburg area to join their network and contribute to their shared vision of economic empowerment.
