The South Strabane Fire Department says the large sinkhole formed because of flood waters on Saturday.
A large sinkhole that emerged on February 14, 2023, has restricted access to South 226th Street in Kent, Washington, prompting the local public works department to close the road between 94th and 96th avenues South. The sinkhole, which spans 15 feet in width and 10 feet in depth, is believed to have been caused by a broken storm drain pipe. The city is currently assessing the situation and working on a repair plan, with no estimated timeline for reopening the road. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and expect delays in the area.
