The longtime leader of Primark admitted an "error of judgement" in his behavior towards a woman in a social environment.
Paul Marchant, the CEO of Primark, has resigned following an investigation into his conduct, as announced by Associated British Foods (ABF), Primark's parent company. The investigation, which was conducted by external legal advisors, concluded that while there was no evidence of illegality or gross misconduct, Marchant's behavior did not meet the company's expected standards. Marchant, who has been with Primark since 2009 and took over as CEO in 2022, will leave his position at the end of the month. ABF has not yet named a permanent replacement but has appointed an interim CEO to manage the transition. Marchant expressed his gratitude for his time at Primark and his commitment to supporting the transition process.
