After a lengthy search for new ownership, Larry Kestelman and the NBL have sold the Tasmania JackJumpers to Brisbane-based private equity firm Altor Capital.

The Tasmania JackJumpers, a team in Australia's National Basketball League (NBL), has been sold to a consortium led by former player and current NBL commentator, Shane Heal, along with other investors. The sale was announced after the team, which began playing in the 2021-22 season, quickly became a fan favorite and achieved notable success, including reaching the NBL Grand Final in their debut year. The new ownership group plans to build on this foundation, focusing on community engagement and furthering the team's competitive edge in the league. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, but the sale marks a significant moment for the franchise as it looks to expand its influence and success in both local and national basketball scenes.
