SoftwareOne to buy Norway's Crayon in $1.4 billion Microsoft-focused takeover

  • By Paul Arnold and Tristan Veyet ZURICH (Reuters) -Swiss technology firm SoftwareOne said on Thursday it had agreed to buy Crayon Group in a stock and cash deal which values its Norwegian competitor at $1.
SoftwareOne Holding AG has agreed to acquire Crayon Group Holding ASA, a Norway-based IT services company, for approximately $1.4 billion. This acquisition aims to enhance SoftwareOne's capabilities in Microsoft-centric cloud and software solutions, significantly expanding its market presence in the Asia-Pacific region. Crayon, known for its expertise in software asset management, cloud services, and licensing, will help SoftwareOne to better serve its global clients by integrating Crayon's extensive Microsoft partnership and its focus on software procurement, licensing, and cloud services. The deal, which has been approved by both companies' boards, is expected to close in the second half of 2024, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals.
