  • The Marine Drive police have registered an FIR against five directors of RMB Event Management Pvt Ltd for allegedly cheating a finance company. The accused allegedly defrauded Bakliwal Finance Services (India) Ltd of Rs3.

An FIR has been filed against five directors of RMB Event Management Pvt Ltd in Mumbai for allegedly defrauding a businessman of Rs 3.5 crore. The directors, identified as Rajesh Batreja, Bimal Batreja, Rakesh Batreja, Rajiv Batreja, and Sanjay Batreja, are accused of cheating the complainant, who was promised a 20% profit on an investment of Rs 3.5 crore for an event management project. The complainant was initially paid Rs 70 lakh as profit, but subsequent demands for the return of the principal amount were met with delays and excuses. The accused directors reportedly used the funds for personal gains and failed to return the money, leading to the legal action under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code.
