- Although there are slightly fewer Medicare Advantage plans offered in 2025, there are more plans that have lower star ratings.
In 2025, Medicare will undergo several significant changes aimed at improving benefits and reducing costs for beneficiaries. Key updates include a reduction in Part B premiums to $174.70 per month, a slight decrease from the previous year, and an increase in the Part B deductible to $240. Medicare Advantage plans will see an average premium decrease to $9.90, with enhancements in benefits like expanded telehealth services, mental health coverage, and new supplemental benefits like adult day care and home modifications for accessibility. Additionally, there will be a focus on chronic care management, with new programs designed to better manage conditions like diabetes and heart disease. Prescription drug coverage under Part D will also see changes, with adjustments to the coverage gap and out-of-pocket costs, aiming to make medications more affordable.
