  A ransomware attack that hit a major software provider last week caused disruptions for a handful of companies over recent days, from Starbucks to U.K. grocery giant Morrisons.

A ransomware attack on the software supplier, NCR, has significantly disrupted operations for numerous retailers, including Starbucks, which was forced to close some stores and revert to manual order-taking methods. The attack, which occurred over the weekend, affected NCR's Aloha point-of-sale system, leading to widespread issues in processing transactions and managing inventory. Other affected businesses include KFC, Taco Bell, and Chili's, with some locations experiencing delays or temporary closures.
