HOUSTON, Aug. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MetroCorp Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ MCBI ]) announced August 9, 2012 that the Company successfully repurchased the remaining 1,260 outstanding shares of the Fixed Rate Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock, Series A ("TARP Shares").  The Company participated at the auction by U.S. Treasury on June 28th and acquired 43,740 shares out of the total 45,000 shares.
